Cheryl is an award-winning film and television writer, director, and producer. As a screenwriter, Cheryl has two original feature-length screenplays, and three TV series in development. In the past, Cheryl has written and directed several comedic shorts including Downsize Games and Spatula Breakthrough (both starring This Hour Has 22-Minute’s Jeremy Woodcock ), and Old Friends, which have appeared in film festivals around the world; from China’s Wenglin Feng Film Festival (taking Top Short prize) to Winnipeg’s International Shart Film Festival. Notably, Downsize Games won Best Comedy Short and a $6500 prize for achieving 30,000 views in only three days on Citizen TV.

 

In 2015, Cheryl directed and producer her first pilot for Bell Fibe TV, a comedic game show called Mock Band, that garnered the channel’s highest monthly ratings upon its January 2016 release. Recently, she produced Emmy-nominated director Richard Rotter’s dark comedy feature film Sideboob, that will be released Fall 2017.
